About the Chief Financial Officer

Rebecca Roth, CMFO, CTC, QPA, RMC joins Cedar Grove as the Chief Financial Officer. Rebecca received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration-Accounting from Montclair State University. She has certifications from the New Jersey Division of Local Government Services as a Certified Municipal Finance Officer, Qualified Purchasing Agent, Certified Tax Collector, and Registered Municipal Clerk. She comes from the Township of Morris with a decade-long experience where she held positions of Qualified Purchasing Agent, Assistant CFO, and Tax Collector. In addition to working in Morris Township, she has been employed by the Township of Mendham, the Borough of Bernardsville, the Borough of North Caldwell, and the Borough of Caldwell. Growing up in Caldwell while attending James Caldwell High School, Rebecca had the opportunity to work summers as an assistant in various municipal offices where she gained a love of municipal government, making it into a lifelong career. She is very excited to come back to her roots in Essex County to serve the residents of Cedar Grove.

Responsibilities

The Finance department is responsible for the following transactions:

1. Preparing Annual Debt Statement
2. Preparing Annual Financial Statement
3. Working with the Township Manager to Prepare and Adopt the Municipal Budget While Ensuring Compliance
4. Overseeing All Accounts Payable and Tendering Payment of Invoices
5. Overseeing All Transactions Related to Revenue and Disbursements.
6. Cash Management
7. Payroll Operations
8. Data Processing
